SAP RFNO (Retail Fuel Network Operations) monitors and controls all payment and quantity flows in service station networks.

As an efficient management tool, SAP RFNO supports, for example:

  • Daily lessee settlement
  • Fuel inventory management
  • Replenishment (SAP RFNO / CSR)
  • Payment and fleet card management
  • Standard POS interfaces (e.g. WEAT)

Sales Forecasts with SAP RFNO / CSR

The innovative functionality of SAP RFNO / CSR (Continuous Station Replenishment) provides reliable forecasts of future fuel sales.

The basis for the calculation by SAP RFNO / CSR is the use of many data sources: POS system, fuel sales, physical measured values of the pumps, records of tank levels.

A sales history is created from the sales that are continuously determined. It is supplemented by the entry of special events that may positively or negatively influence sales. Examples are concerts or festivals, but also building sites or vacation periods. The results are further refined by a third level: a filter that can be individually configured and can also take the effects of competitor prices into consideration.

Based on the fuel inventories and expected sales, SAP RFNO / CSR calculates when replenishment should best take place for each product type. The system then automatically generates a corresponding sales order, which can also be passed on to the tour planning SAP SDM / IDM straight away.

Intelligent Pricing

As a rule, service station operators must closely monitor the competition and adjust prices accordingly, often several times a day. With SAP RFNO, price setting can now be automated.

SAP RFNO users can use a central location to enter price changes that the system then propagates automatically to service station lessees. Importantly, each local station receives the price calculated individually for this site based on the parameters set for this station by head office.

Service station operators can also define the amount by which fuel prices should exceed or undercut the prices of competitors. Location groupings can also be used by head office to set “price leaders” in the company’s own network whose prices are definitive for neighboring locations.

To ensure service station operators can respond as quickly as possible, a Fiori app is also offered for pricing management. This lets service station operators and lessees use a smartphone or tablet to input competitor prices into the system as a basis for pricing.
